I've always felt Mason Jennings is kind of a modest gem. A slaying voice. Most always a no bullshit production. His songs and voice seem in a way privately iconic to me.

His "I'm Not There" covers are some of my favorite parts of the film. Maybe because it's also an empowered and exciting, if not desperate and wreckless slice of the characterizations and stories within the film.

His voice meshes hauntingly well with Bale's image, including the per-usual, desperate, famished look and accompanying intensity. I kind of had to look this scene / video up as I was enjoying this soundtrack today.
